Lost And Found In Old San Juan

By Jimmy Shoals · The Saltwater Sessions: Legends Of The Summer

Harbor lights shimmer on restless tides, Salt-kissed breezes carry dreams inside. One man drifting where lost souls run, Under lanterns bright in Old San Juan. Stepped off the boat with a crooked grin, No plan, just the weight of the life I'm living in. Cobblestones danced to a soft guitar, As lanterns lit dreams in a seaside bar. She appeared— Eyes of rum… Softly aflame, And smiled like she already knew my name. We danced through Calle Luna's open doors, (Sí, bailamos…) She kissed me once, then twice, then more. Like a wave I couldn't fight, (Mi amor…) She pulled me into the warmest night. I came to drift, to disappear — But found myself when she drew near. (Cuando te encontré…) Her voice like waves in a hidden bay, Spanish laughter lighting our way. Don Q and lime, a playful dare, "Ven conmigo," an answered prayer. Her touch turned stories I'd always told Into memories that I'll always hold. We danced through Calle Luna's open doors, (Sí, bailamos…) She kissed me once, then twice, then more. Like a wave I couldn't fight, (Mi amor…) She pulled me into the warmest night. I came to drift, to disappear — But found myself when she drew near. (Cuando te encontré…) We chased boleros through streets and bars, Strangers become lovers beneath the stars. La Factoría humming so soft and slow, With every sip, my old self letting go. At morning's edge, it was crystal clear — She'd left her mark, forever here. She came like rain to a thirsty shore, Turned emptiness to something more. I wasn't just saved — I was reborn In the heat of a night, then softly torn. She showed me paths I'd never seen, A thousand shades of might have been. We danced through Calle Luna's open doors, (Sí, bailamos…) She kissed me once, then twice, then more. Like a wave I couldn't fight, (Mi amor…) She pulled me into the warmest night. I came to drift, to disappear — But found myself when she drew near. (Cuando te encontré…) Now I walk these docks, steps at ease, With gentle waves and memory's breeze. One night in San Juan ended way too soon, Lost, then found in her moonlit tune.
