We sit and watch the setting sun,
And just like that, another summer's gone.
Waves keep rolling, the seasons turn,
With every tide there's more to learn.
Barefoot days and boardwalk lights,
First kiss under moon-soaked nights.
Endless days, we had it all,
Never believed those summers would fall.
We were young and time moved slow,
Chasing sunsets we didn't know.
We sit and watch the setting sun,
And just like that another summer's gone.
Where did another summer go,
The memories drift but never slow.
Years roll by like waves on the shore,
Summer fades, we don't get many more.
Long hot days with kids in the sand,
Building castles with their tiny hands.
Baseball games and on the road again,
Family dinners and laughter with friends.
We were busy, life moved fast,
Holding tight, knowing time moves past.
Seasons change, and the years move on,
We don't stop living when the summer's gone.
We keep love close as the seasons fly
And dream of days living side by side.
We sit and watch the setting sun,
And just like that another summer's gone.
Where did another summer go,
The memories drift but never slow.
Years roll by like waves on the shore,
Summer fades, we don't get many more.
Grandkids laughing, running free,
Another chance to make a memory.
Shadows grow longer and nights get cold,
Summer days slip through our hold.
The days get faster, the nights grow kind,
But I still hold summer in my mind.
One last sunset, colors drawn,
We say a prayer as the night comes on.
I count my blessings, every one —
Smiling as another summer's gone.
