JD always thought he was the king of tall tales…
But one night…
he wandered into this little tiki bar…
And let me tell ya…
there's always somebody better…
Sits on the same old barstool every night,
Sun-kissed smile in a drink on ice.
Says he knew Jimmy back in '85,
Half of it's truth… half alibi.
Talks 'bout storms he outran at sea,
And a girl in Havana who still loves me.
Lean in close, yeah you'll wanna hear —
Every word gets better with a beer.
Yeah, by the time he's two or three in…
You start believin' everythin'.
Everybody knows that guy at the tiki bar —
Says he's been everywhere, don't matter who you are.
Got a story for every scar,
Swears he damn near was a star.
He'll swear it's true… yeah, most of it is.
Tells these tales like they're mostly his.
Yeah, everybody knows that guy… at the tiki bar.
Got a buddy like JD standin' by his side —
Tryin' to keep up, but he can't keep stride.
Noddin' along like it all checks out,
But you can tell he's got his doubts.
Bartender smirks, just lets it roll,
Pours another round like it's part of the show.
Lean in closer, now don't miss a word —
Best damn story you've ever heard.
Yeah, by the time he's a couple drinks in…
